NTBC was started in 1984 by a small group of believers who saw a need for a Christ-centered, Bible teaching church in the greater Syracuse area. In 1989, Pastor Dan Labieniec, a graduate of Calvary Baptist Seminary, came to NTBC. Under his leadership the work began to grow, moving from renting an auditorium at a local school, to purchasing a building, to the completion of a new addition in Spring of 2007 which allows for expanded ministry opportunities.
We are a Bible teaching church, firmly committed to unleashing the life-transforming power of God's Word through a verse-by-verse exposition of the Sacred text. We believe that there is no substitute for the Scripture.
While the current trend of many churches is towards a shallow, superficial preaching, programs, dramatization, and showmanship, none of these is able to transform the human heart. Only the Word of God is "living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword" (Hebrews 4:12). Only the Word of God is "perfect and pure, and brings the weary soul to peace with God" (Psalm 19:7-9).
Thank you for your interest in New Testament Baptist Church. It has been my joy to serve in this vibrant assembly as shepherd since the fall of 1989. Through the years, by God's grace alone, my love for the flock and our enthusiasm to serve the Lord together has never waned.
We are thrilled with the work to which God has called us and look to the future with great anticipation. It is our purpose, as a church, to magnify the splendor of the Lord Jesus Christ - to esteem, enjoy and love Him with all of our hearts. We press toward this goal as a spiritual family, bound together by Chrisitan love, filled by the Holy Spirit, and focused upon the evangelistic mission to which our Lord has called us.
Our emphasis, as a church body, is to promote a God-centered worship in which His Word is clearly taught, sung, and honored as the final authority in His church. We strive, as an assembly, to earnestly defend God's truth against false doctrine and to obey that truth wih love, passion, and joy.
More than all else, our desire is not promote ourselves, but to magnify both the greatness and goodness of our magnificent God, both corporately and individually, as He graciously allows us. To God alone be the Glory!
